Manifestations of The Church by Ps. Ong

Weee, its a lengthy one :) So long that my sms became a mms.
I wished I could take notes and right stuff together at the same time, then my phone would upload it straight to my blog, so need for so much hassle. But I guess everything needs a bit of working.

John 3:5-6 (New King James Version)

5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

What is life? We all have our different definitions of life but the most simple definition is by looking at a person's life. Usually we would say, "Oh, then it should be my grandfather or some one old, because he has lived throughout his life and has great experience!"
That is true, if your considering wisdom and experience. But the wisdom and experience of some one older is already tainted by the world.

Real life is found by looking at a baby, the innocence of a newborn. Its innocence is life.
Why? Because flesh is flesh like in the scriptures. If a man that has lived his life on earth is bound to be bounded by things of the earth. Whatever is of the Spirit can't be with the flesh, Spirit is spirit and flesh is flesh.

1 Corinthians 12:7 (New King James Version)

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

A baby is not messed up by the world's failures, adultery, sins, temptations, all in all bad stuff.
If you depended on yourself , you get what you yourself(Wahaha thats intensifying, a pronoun use. Learnt from English ^^) can produce. So flesh is flesh, and whatever is spirit is spirit.

So what is manifestation of the Spirit? Manifestation is from the Greek word Pleroma which means fullness. When the Spirit of God expresses Himself through us, its like a when a ray of light goes through a prism and rainbows comes out the other side. When the Spirit of God manifests us, great things will come out of us : miracles, healing, prophecy, etc.

When we go to church we wonder why those incredible miracles and healing don't happen. We know we read our Bibles and pray, we worship and live right. So why doesn't it happen?
Is it cause the church is not teaching us correctly?
If you think that way then you better really read this post well, if you don't and you know that you can't blame the church but theres something in us we need to realize or correct then good job! =)

The church's responsible to why these things don't happen. The church's true responsibility is to make sure that we continue in the spirit. It has to make sure that there is a continual manifestation of God's Spirit through us. Thus greater things will come.


Four practical stages of the church's manifestations. We are gonna us Mary's and Jesus' lives as examples.

Luke 1:34-38 (New King James Version)

34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”
35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”
38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

1. Receiving Through the Divine Manifestation. Verse 35

We wonder why the word is not working, why even though as we worship nothing comes forth from it. The reason is because as we receive the Word in an atmosphere of worship, it has to also stick in us together with God's presence. The Word and God's presence goes hand-in-hand. He overshadows us, and we receive the Word.

Pastor Ong said this, "For the last 2,000 years the church has never lacked the understanding of God's Word, but the has church has lacked the understanding of God's Word."

He wasn't trying to contradict himself, lol. What does he mean? His trying to say in simple that, "We need both knowledgeable people and people that brings manifestence."

The church never did lack in understanding God's Word, because it had people with great knowledge, but it lacked the understanding of God's Word because many people didn't have the manifestation of the Spirit. Marry the manifestence together with the Word.
Let God overshadow us, let Him marinate us.
Pastor said in South America, overshadow means marinate. So let God marinate us. yumm =)
Receive the divine manifestation and the miracles with happen.
Its alright to question God for clarity. To why the miracles are not working, but know when to trust. Because trust is where we grow, and how we learn. Be like Mary, she trusted and said "Let it be done."

2. We Must Protect the Ways of God through Decerning.

Matthew 2:12-13 (New King James Version)

12 Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.

The Flight into Egypt

13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”
Discerning is very important, Pastor told a true story of a church in Nigeria.
There was a pastor there named Lagos and he had been doing great miracles in the church, healing many people. Many Christians from all over the world and even some great pastors Pastor Ong knew went. They saw him perform the healing and many people believed. Pastor Ong also almost wanted to see him, once when he visit Singapore. But he didn't get to.
Then some really bad news came about. It was about the man Lagos and how he didn't not believe in God and not even Jesus, that his belief was in witchcraft and that all the healing he was doing was through it. Pastor Ong warned everyone to discern well. Because most of the time life is never what it seems to be.

How To Discern Well?
Simple! Back to John 3:5-6. What ever is of the flesh is flesh and what ever is of the Spirit is spirit. Fleshly analytics are of the flesh, Spirit is spirit.
An old man's wisdom and experience will be fleshly. His experience is based on what he has been living through. To discern well we need to fill ourselves with the Spirit.

Hebrews 5:14 (New King James Version)

14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Train ourselves well in the Word. Read from the Word, learn from others who have done that. Learn and ask people who are wise in discerning. Ask for advice.




Acts 5:1-3 (New King James Version)

Lying to the Holy Spirit
1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. 2 And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?

Ananias and Sapphira were godly people but because they were not strong in their discerning they had sinned terribly.

3. Nurture Our Inner Life and Character

God's plans are not always inspirational or exciting plane(I don't get what exciting plane means but I'm sure Pastor said plane not plan >_<>

Like Jesus' family, Jesus was just born instead of being able to settle down and relax. God asked them to flee to Egypt. He will like the Israelites, bring us into the wilderness. He tests us, that we might be nurtured in our inner life and character.

But do not let doubt come into our hearts, because when we doubt that it all crashes down like the stock market. I just learnt this from my History & Geography.

Lets use the Stock Market as an example. When times all so good, people are really happy. But when the good is too much.... then people start to doubt, and Correction takes place. People think the market needs to slow down and take a rest, which is correction, so they start to pull out of it. When people start to pull out of the market, what happens? In one word, it Crashes.

Luke 2:40 (New King James Version)

40 And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.

We grow in the wilderness. Like how Jesus grew, we grow too.

Luke 2:52 (New King James Version)

52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

We need to allow God to nurture us.
We must have the character that can carry us, where our gifts can shine.
That statement is very true, and I like it. Our gifts are from our character and to let it shine we must have the correct character.


4. We Must Release That Power by Relinquishing Control.

John 2:11 (New King James Version)

11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

Like how Mary raised Jesus. When Jesus was ready to leave for His ministry, she didn't stop Him. As a mother she could, but she knew that she had to let Him go.
We must learn to try our very best, then trust God.

The walk of faith is always uncomfortable to release control, but when we do our life can become as great Jesus'.

So, receive divine manifestations, protect it by discerning well, nurture it, and release our control.

Isaiah 26:3-4 (New King James Version)

3 You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
4 Trust in the LORD forever,
For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength.

Ramblings

Fuhhh wat a day, wat a day. The talent competition wasnt that bad.
Atleast get to hear some good songs. Good songs, songs not voices but songs.
Get to meet some people which was cool.
And well nothin much quite simple i guess go there and com bak.
No one needed my help to play so o well =D

Lols ate nandos. 2-n-a-half chicken with 2 sidelines yeahh woot. had mcd mcflurry oreo for desert. And awesome songs of today are hallelujah and lols i cant rmb one more song.
Anyways anddddd we went westlife crazy and boybands crazy. rmbering old songs. awesome.

The Storms of Life, Pastor Caleb

I had to make up a title since there was no title given, I listened attentively this time and I got everything down! We all face hardships and storms in our lives and Pastor Caleb preached on it.
Kudos!

Mark 4:35-41 The story of how Jesus calmed the storm! Yeap, a very known Biblical story to all. Used by many in their messages and has different meanings to it. This times its about the storms of life we face, typically, as teenagers.
Wind and Wave Obey Jesus
35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
So Jesus had just finished His preaching to a multitude, and he wanted to cross over to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. Jesus and His disciples got on a boat and set sail to the other side. Half way through their wonderful cruise, a storm came in and it was terrible. The Sea of Galilee is known for waves that are as high has 10ft. While waves were that high and powerful enough to sink a boat, Jesus was in the room, with a pillow, snoozing like a baby. Imagine if you were His disciples! You'd be scared the life out of you, killer waves, lightning, rain, water, water, water, and Jesus is sleeping like He didn't care!
Being like everyone else, of course we had to wake Jesus, we didn't want to die!
The disciples called of Jesus, waked Him up, and asked Him, "Do you not care that we are about to die?"
Jesus pissed that He was woken up to such a trivial matter, went out to the front of the boat, calmed the storm at His command, and asked His disciples,"Why is your faith so little?"

Many times, I have heard this story and never understood what was it truly about. Though I understand word for word, but the meaning didn't get into me. Anyways just in case anyone has the same problem. The problem with the whole story was that, the disciples had very little faith. They didn't trust in Jesus or God that He would save them, instead they would cry why doesn't He care! God does care a lot! And Jesus questioned them why didn't they know that?

When we face our troubles, hardships, "sufferings", or storms, our faith is rarely put to use. We'd just go and ask God "Don't You care, about my financial problems, family, studies, friends, loves, relationships?"
Its bad to think that God doesn't care. God is the first and last person who cares the most. He with us always. A day will come when you leave everybody around or everybody around you leaves you and the only person left with you is God. In the storms of life, our faith is being tested, we need to know that God is with us, and that through Him, our storms are calmed and gone.

  • 1.We are not exempted from the storms of life.
Because we are Christians, it doesn't mean were exempted from going through bad things. The reason why we face through these storms is because we are human! Just because we become Christians or are Christians, it does not mean we are not human. We are human and we are not different from anyone else, the only difference with everyone else is that we have God. We still have to through human hardships, because of Adam's sin, we are bound by sin, and its our nature to sin. Don't misunderstand this, its not that we are allowed to sin. No, its just that we cannot live a sinless life like Jesus. As humans, we sin period.

So we face many storms : money, bgr(boy,girl relationships), exams, life, family, death of some one close.

Jesus brings this storms. He lets them come. 2 reasons why :

  1. Strengthens our faith
  2. Show you who He is.
When we face the storms, our faith grows, and we learn more about Jesus. This causes us to be never the same. We change, change that is for the better.

Somethings in storms, we can't control : age, time, gender.

  • 2. We must not fear circumstances we can't control.
Though these circumstances are real, we can decide how to respond to it. Ask Jesus for help! "How am I going to respond to it?"
Don't fly solo, you already know you can't control these things so ask Jesus to help you. Alone we are weak, but with Him we can move mountains.

  • 3. Never say God does not care.
When we see God in the storm we will fear Him more than the storm. Like the disciples, after Jesus showed He could stop the storm. They were more afraid of Him than the storm that was about to kill them.

When its too big for us, trust God, speak to the storm, "Be still." Fear God more than the storm, trust in Him. It is better to die trusting God than being afraid of something that is of the world.
We can trust in Him because He is strong and mighty.

  • 4.Whatever happens in life Jesus is enough!

Well I hope some one got something out of this suffering series =P Its awesome la, I mean God can put it in such a way whereby suffering is explained and is talked about on another side.
It just has a good chemistry.

Ramblings

Ahhh tml is the talent competition thingy. Oh joy....
Not gonna do much i guess =/ hopefully it'll be a fun day and not that bad of one.

Was watching vantage point, and just when it was getting really exciting and revealing all the answers Megavideo tells me i watched too much and have to wait a hour b4 I can watch more.

Ugh.... Im stuck without an ending. GREATTTTT
I want things to get better haizzzz, it should >_<>
really need a break, cant seem to catch one though.

And while i walk up the stage all so coolly, I stun the crowd, they go wild. Wats a korean doing there lawls. then i pick up the guitar and start singing in a magical voice that even i dont kno of. lawls.
What crap =/ dream on, dream on.
Orrrrrrr I go tml and meet sooo many girls and melt them like fire to ice.

Suffering, by Sis. Stephanie Part 2

Part 2!

From the last post we stopped at how Israel didn't appreciate God's love on them, and this caused God to suffer because they sinned and He grieved.

God also suffered like us. He suffered when He sent His son Jesus down to earth and became human. Jesus lived among us and suffered temptation, hurts, and pain.

Jesus was the Suffering Servant.
Christ being the Suffering Servant was a Messianic title that could only be held by Jesus, and this can be read from Isaiah 53.

Isaiah 53:1-3 - A plant
Isaiah 53 talks about the servant that suffers and that servant was Jesus.
Jesus was like a plant then grew in a desert, waste land. Meaning, being the mighty and powerful God He is, He became human and lived among us.

Isaiah 54:4-6 - A lamb
Verse 4-6 shows us how Jesus was the lamb that is the perfect sacrifice and took our punishment. Why did He take our punishment? Because of our sins, God has to judge it, and because the punishment that is due is too much, Jesus as the servant took our place.
But because of Christ obedience to God, God is exalted.
Isaiah 53:12 Thus being a king.


Why do we suffer? Knowing what suffer is, and that even God suffers, why do we have to go through it?
What is the purpose of suffering?

  • For sanctification and growth
  • Character - Romans 5:3-5 : ....rejoice in our sufferings.... produce perseverance.... character... hope.
  • Refining - Hebrews 12:10-11 : ... holiness... righteousness, peace.
  • A New Nature (Transformed) - 1 Peter 4:1 : .... whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin...
So what are we to do when we Suffer?

  • We should follow Jesus when we suffer
  • We should endure - go through it patiently
  • We should trust God to pull us through, to deliver us.
Romans 5:3-5 (The Message)

3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Next up is last weeks message by Pastor Caleb! About how we go through hard times or storms in our lives! This is a great follow-up to this topic that is why I planned to post this first before Pastor's message so that we can have a better understanding of it.

Suffering, by Sis. Stephanie Part 1

The topic which I and I hope everyone was waiting for... Suffering.
4 pages of notes, one pen, the blogger, and God's lesson.

Sis. Stephanie is very boring, and its a lot of power points and points, but its worth it if you manage to get everything down cause she defines everything and details it all.
So I have a lot of points to go through, will try not to talk to much.

Suffering - Do Christians Suffer?

Definition of suffering :

  • To experience harm or loss
  • To undergo punishment or be executed
  • Lastly, a definition that is not in the dictionary and is an obsolete definition.
    To endure patiently, a Christian definition.
What Does The Bible Say About Suffering?

  • It's part of a human life, and only humans can experience it. God doesn't experience our suffering, because He is God, He is perfect.
    This shows us how much God being perfect, sent Jesus to become human to experience our suffering. From being God to human, Jesus lived a life that experienced it all just because He loves us dearly. We see how big and how wide and how deep God's love is for us.
3 Types of Suffering.

1. Punitive/retributive suffering = When you receive punishment for your mistakes or sin.
God doesn't let bad things fall on us for punishment, He loves us and does not do that. But He allows these things to happen to us so that we may grow in faith and learn to trust Him more.

Examples in the Bible of punitive suffering are like..
Adam & Eve, because of their mistake/sin, man had to toil for a living, women had to experience child birth, and they were driven out of Eden.
Another example is Israel in Exile.
For at least 10+ books in the Bible, if you know the history of the Bible well, it shows how Israel, over and over again, failed to obey God and His commandments. Its really had breaking to see how they kept on falling short or walked away from God's road.
They sinned, and God let them be taken into exile that they may turn back to Him.
Sadly they did, but they sinned over and over again. Learn from this, stay faithful to God, He is always wanting us to return to Him and to stay by His side.

2. Innocent suffering = Suffering you don't deserve.
A very simple and known example to this is in the book of Job.
Job suffered innocently. His life was torn apart, everything was taken away from him, his children, his slaves, and everything he owned. He didn't deserve it but it was all in the plan to bring glory to God. (God showed Satan that even though he made Job suffer, Job didn't blame God but trusted in Him more.)

Another example is Paul's ministry. He shared the Gospel saving so many people, but he had to suffer many types of sufferings, whippings, jail, prison, shipwrecks, stoned, persecution, riots, and even death, twice. (Once he died by being stoned to death but God raised him back to life, Paul got up and went back into the town that stoned him and started preaching again.)

We live in a time where we get a lot of suffering we don't deserve but don't be depressed or saddened by it, because God knows, Jesus felt it, and He has a plan for you and will help you.

3. Redemptive Suffering = Both punitive & innocent suffering can be changed as you are refined by it or for the good of some one else.

Meaning... Punitive suffering can change you to be a better Christian with stronger faith in God, like you learn something new, like reading this post =) or just seeing everything in a different perspective.
Innocent suffering that maybe your suffering but it can help others, so even if your suffering right now, God might be using you to help others or molding you.

Examples from the Bible ..

Joseph - Isolated from his family but became the Pharaoh of Egypt that ended up saving his own family and started the people of God.

Moses - Unappreciated leader, Moses lead the people, he followed them, he suffered with them but they didn't give him the respect nor appreciation he deserved. But he lead them to the Promise Land.

Jeremiah a.k.a. the Weeping Prophet - During and before the time of Israel's exile by the Babylonians. He tried to get the people to change, he tried to save them, but they did not listen but he still suffered with them so that he may at least save he few. He died in a far of country with some wandering Israelites.

Paul - Prisoner for the Gospel, I already explained.

Jesus - Suffered for us, His love and mercy is too great to comprehend. He died for our sins, so that we may be saved.

Our types of sufferings :

Sickness

Oppression

Persecution

Unrealized hope

Need

We now know what suffering means and the types of suffering we can go through.
So if we suffer,
Does God Suffer?

Yes, God does suffer but He suffers because we sin.
He suffers in.. sorrow for us, disappointment, and grief.

Examples from the Bible :

Genesis 3:8-24 Adam & Eve's sin
2 Peter 2:4 Angels rebelled against God
Genesis 6:5-6 The Flood
Nehemiah 9;20, Psalm 78:10,40, Isaiah 63:10, when Israel wandered in the wilderness.
They complained, even though God feed them, gave them water, manna to eat, birds to eat, clothes that they wore from Egypt that did not wore down.

Jon's Foot & School

Everyone knows what happened to Jon's toe so yeah pictures.
Wish I had one without his bandages, but if I did it would be like blood squirting out.
So imagine him standing and your looking down at his foot, then after a few hops you see blood, like a squirt gun, squirting blood on the floor. Like me, I'm sure you'll, panic. Well got some bandages covered the friggin gross deep cut and tied it tight.

Philippians(Phil) 4:13, by Pastor Bee Bee

The famous verse used by all, because its a verse that gives strength and assurance to every Christian. Sadly, Pastor Bee Bee showed us at chapel that it is interpreted or use it wrongly.

Philippians 4:13 (New King James Version)

13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.


When she meant wrongly, she doesn't mean that its wrong for us to use it, but how we use it.
The reason is because Phil 4:13 cannot be read alone, it goes hand-in-hand together with verse 12.

(NJV)12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
(NIV)12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
Verse 12 is about how Paul learns how to be happy even though his suffering, and that in his weakness he is strong in Christ. It doesn't matter whether he was in prison and is in a terrible state but God's works are strong when he is the weakest.

Everything is connected. How we think and feel will cause us to be just that or to act as that.
When we say through Christ who strengthens me, it means that Christ has to work through us, not we work then Jesus will do the miracle. No, not our way, God's way.

We use Phil 4:13 in such a abusive way. We think that, "Man my teacher is giving a lot of crap, or my boss thinks I'm his slave. But no worries! I'll just go alone and Jesus will give me strength to help me alone the way!!" How can Christ give us strength when we are not in accord with Him?

The meaning of Phil 4:13 is to let God work in you. That in times of trouble you seek Him, and you ask Him for strength and how to do it His way. What way is God's way?
God's way is to be like Jesus, the more we are like Jesus, the more we are on the right road.

Why be like Jesus?
Jesus is the perfect example on how as students or everyone needs to be. His attributes should be planted deep into our lives.

It is also important to let God work in your whole life, not part work or part family. Neither part emotionally and part physically. You need to open all your compartments and let God do His wonders. So that our lives is through Christ. You see how it works? To gain strength is to have our lives through Christ, to be Him and to have Him through us or in us to "change us".

Change, thats what everyone needs. To change into the right way with God.
What type of change in our lives? A change whereby, our methods, ways, and thoughts became like Jesus' methods, Jesus' ways, Jesus' thoughts.

Self-actualization needs to take place here. Self actualization means to be yourself, and to be your best! So be like Jesus, try to live your life like Him, giving it your best. When you give your best, that is Excellence. Not being number 1, thats how the world thinks, but to give it your best.
Excellence is God's eyes. So Actualize your life in Christ.

Christ's strength means His way.
"Christ in me, and I in Christ"

Be empowered to live a life in Christ.

Stirred But Not Changed, Pastor Caleb Part 2

Part 2.. Finished it in 2 parts =)

Defining the type of stirrings.

3 Kinds of Stirrings

  1. A Stirring that brings a certain energy, desire, or chemistry.

    When we are stirred, we're like full or energy! Adrenaline has just been injected into our systems and it feels we can run for miles and never stop. So stirring is gives us a kind of energy, a desire that causes us to "want to achieve something in our lives or around us", or
    a chemistry. A chemistry, whereby we are just mixed with different types of mixtures and boom we have a chemistry.

Stirring is a process, it never stops. It keeps on going... on and on!
Our stirring cannot be like a battery, ours is like the sun. It never stops giving us light. God wants us to have a stirring that never stops, because when we are stirred it goes past death.

What stirs us?
When we wake up in the morning and its just at dawn, our bodies are cold. But when the sun creeps out from the horizon and its light touches us, we feel refreshed!

Psalm 119:130 says

130 The entrance of Your words gives light;
It gives understanding to the simple.

Light stirs us. God's Word is light and we must let the Word of God enter us and.. stir us :P


Why must we have God's Word in us?

Without God we are lost in darkness, but when we receive Him and when He stirs us, we are new creatures in Christ and because we have Jesus, He gives us light.
When you can see the light, you can start to move.

Lost in our sinful worlds, finding life in God, and moving on towards better days.

Thats how it would sound =)


Pastor Caleb moves to talking about God's Word being a mirror.

James 1:21-25

21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

The Bible tells the kind of person we are. Reading the verses you can see that through the Bible we can see the type of person we are and that we are seeing what God actually sees in us. Not physically, but our hearts. The Word of God reflects, so ask God how we look like truly.

2 types of people on how they react to seeing their reflection.

  • "My"-Self-Opinionated people.
They are the type that does not change their view of themselves even though they show their reflection. They were stirred but not changed!

  • Double-minded people
These people saw themselves and actually knew they were wrong. So they changed, and changed, and changed and changed. They keep on changing. See your reflection, change yourself and grow in Jesus. Don't go back to your old ways neither doing something else.

What is the real type of stirring?
Real excitement comes by His spirit - Haggai 1:14
Jesus can stir us by His spirit, because He is a life giving spirit.
Let God stir you, let Him teach you how to keep your fire burning, because He can.

Hebrews 10:24

24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.

In conclusion, stick with the right people. People that have the same flame as you, so that together you can help each other keep it burning.

We don't have to worry about not being able to change because Jesus causes our lives to be changed!

Stirred But Not Changed, Pastor Caleb. Part 1

I took notes with my phone, didn't know why I never thought of that earlier. The thing that I noticed when I was taking notes was that following Pastor Caleb is really hard, lol.
So the points I number may or may not be right, cause he was like 3 kinds of this, then half way through number 1 he'll say and I'll share on 3 kinds of that. So I was lost =P

Stirred but not changed, the point that Pastor is trying really hard to implant into the Nex-Gen-ers. He knows very well that when we listen, we just listen and get fired-up for the day or week, but then lost it easily. Like Paradise Band, when they came and did their concert, everyone was fired-up for God, but when they left, the burning gone. I understand how he feels very well, because like Paradise Band, last we hand a concert by another group. People we lifted up, and energized, but lost it fast during the weeks that came. I also strongly disagree with how people get stirred but they do not change in their life. It's terrible, really, its like a disease for everyone.

Matthew 21:1-11

The Triumphal Entry
1 Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage,at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loosethem and bring them to Me. 3 And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.”
4 All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:
5 “ Tell the daughter of Zion,

‘ Behold, your King is coming to you,
Lowly, and sitting on a donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey.’”

6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them. 8 And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:


“ Hosanna to the Son of David!

‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’
Hosanna in the highest!”

10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?”
11 So the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.”
Pastor Caleb used this passage to give an example of how people are stirred, but they do not change. If you have read the passage, you would know that Jesus was approaching Jerusalem, and that before His entry into the city, he asked his disciples to get Him a colt that He may sit on.

*Sidenote now for Jesus to be sitting on a colt and entering the village, in modern terms, He was driving a Kancil, in other words a cheap car, not a BMW nor a Merc but a cheap car. This is to prove the prophesy of Isaiah that Jesus would enter into the city as a humble servant.

The disciples found the colt that Jesus spoke of and brought it to Him. Jesus sat on it and entered the city, as you read the people were screaming. Flowers were being thrown!!!! THE CROWD WENT WILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and all for the wrong reason, for the same crowd that rooted for Jesus had Him crucified the following days to come.

Pastor was afraid of this, that we had our worship of Jesus all wrong. That we were fired up for a moment then lost it so easily, thus our worship to God was nothing but an adrenaline that lasted for a short while. The true worship of God last forever, that adrenaline will never die down.

So Pastor gave four types of reasons why the crowd in Matthew 21 was not right.
Forgive me, for I did not pay attention during his first 2 points and I didn't get it. But maybe he said it, but its kinda hard to grasps.

  3. Peer Pressure, Mobs, Groups

    Thirdly, these 3 types of groups can effect people. Just like how it effected the crowd that welcomed Jesus, these people were either peer pressured by people around them or grouped together and just went for it.

    This is very common around our daily lives, we are always brought into situations whereby peer pressure causes us to make decision that are mostly wrong, but only a bit right.
    So this is very general, because all of us can give our testimonies of what happened to us in many different scenarios, lives, relationships, work, studies, etc..

    But lets look at this more specifically, which is Worship. Do you know that Worshiping God can be peer pressure too? I'm sure most of you will know this, and sadly is very very
    common in most Christians.
    Most Christians are brought up in Christian homes, and
    we just take it for granted that we have to go to church, we have to worship God, we meet with our friends, we go because our friends go, we go because this super hot chick goes/or we go because Denzil goes, but why is it not, we go because we just wanna worship and listen to God?
    Our mindset of going to church and worshiping God has been tainted, it is superbly wrong.

    Mobs & Groups, the same crowd that loved Jesus, wanted Him to be crucified. Most of them was because they were grouped or in a mob. They had no reason, they just followed the mob, they just went with it. Terrible isn't it? Don't, don't go to church because people don't go, it is really bad. Know what you are doing, do not just go with it, stop and think.
    Have the right heart for going to church.

  4. Wrong Idea About Jesus

    Lastly, people have the wrong idea of Jesus. The crowd had the wrong idea of Him, to them He may have been like a celebrity, and like fans to celebrities. They were crazy for Him.
    Quite simple here, this goes together with point 3.

    In summary, the crowd was peer pressured together for the wrong reasons.

Pastor spoke a lot and I don't think I can fit everything into one post. So I'll break it up into like
3 parts, hopefully its enough >_<

Courage in the Face of Fear or Adversity

Thats how I think it would look like if it were an article. Pastor Lydia needs a short title, at least make it more catchy. She preached this from chapel at school, and I took notes like a good lil' boy should! So this is more off from my notes than memory.

Pastor Lydia, preached about being The Courages Christian, and from the passage of
2 Chronicles 32:1-8

1 After these deeds of faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and entered Judah; he encamped against the fortified cities, thinking to win them over to himself. 2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come, and that his purpose was to make war against Jerusalem, 3 he consulted with his leaders and commanders[a] to stop the water from the springs whichwere outside the city; and they helped him. 4 Thus many people gathered together who stopped all the springs and the brook that ran through the land, saying, “Why should the kingsb]" style="font-size: 0.75em; line-height: 0.5em; ">[b] of Assyria come and find much water?” 5 And he strengthened himself, built up all the wall that was broken, raised it up to the towers, and built another wall outside; also he repaired the Milloc]" style="font-size: 0.75em; line-height: 0.5em; ">[c]in the City of David, and made weapons and shields in abundance. 6 Then he set military captains over the people, gathered them together to him in the open square of the city gate, and gave them encouragement, saying, 7 “Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. 8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
The passage talks about King Hezekiah of Judah, a young king and was always having his kingly life together with God's, though sadly near his end he disobeyed God. But one of the much better Kings of Judah when compared to the evil ones.

Sidenote* His the same king who, when God did a miracle of stopping the earth's movement on its axis and rotated the earth backwards.

So Pastor Lydia starts off with the statement of "Arise in Courage!"
  1. Courage Exalts Christ
  • Courage goes together with worship(worship has been the topic of this month really strongly, I'm sure God is trying to state a strong fact about Worship.). Worship exalts Christ, it puts Him in the position that is to be worshiped.
We need to be courageous in our worship of God, why do we need to be courageous? Later on in her second point, Pastor Lydia makes a really good statement why.

  • Courage will reflects Christ character in us. 1 John 4:4 *SMV, memorize it =)*
    4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
So by reading this verse, we can see that having Christ in us, makes us greater people than that of the world. This proves that, in Christ not only in our spiritually life, but also our daily lives we can be more successful than the average person!

One thing about Pastor Lydia, she uses stories to help make the message to sink in easily.
Her first story out of 3, LoLs I only took down 2 of the important ones.

The Inn of Sixth Happiness.

Unless you've lived for over 40+ years than you would know whats this or your just really really all knowing bout these things =P.
The Inn of Six Happiness, is a wonderful movie/story*real story* about a missionary named
Gladys Aylward, from Britain who went to China and lived there, during the times before and during World War II. She helped orphans escape the Japanese, and to run to the borders of China. China is very big, its capital is bigger than 1/2 quarter of Malaysia so yeah they ran alottt.
Anyways near the end when all hope seemed lost, and there was nothing else that she could do, one of the orphans told her that, uhhh something about God is with her, and that she can do it. Sorry =/.

Anyways Pastor Lydia said that, and the same thing that I said before, "No matter how we feel, God is still God." So even though Gladys was all lost, and without hope, God being God was there and will and still is able to help her.

  1. Courage and Courages, Courage!(2nd Point, blogger isn't that awesome for a writing program)
The point means that a courage, and many other courages, becomes at COURAGE!
All it needs is one person to be courages and the others will follow.
Same place, same time in China, but not the same story, there was a Christian school that was located in some place. One day Japanese soldiers came and called everyone out to the school yard and took the cross from the building and put it at the front gate.
They told the little children "If anyone steps on this cross, will be allowed to leave, but if you bow down to it, then you will be shot dead."
So the first boy came, and stepped on the cross and they left him leave. Then the second came and did the same. But the third was a little girl, she went to the cross she bowed down humbly, and they shot her. *yeappppp I felt really sad* And because that one girl, took the courage to do that, the other children followed after her. That day, 100 children were shot dead. The massacre ignited the people in the town to group together to go against the Japanese for what they did, but sadly they were killed also, but their faith for God was great.

One girl, one courage, many followed.

Closing her message, Pastor Lydia said, "Set the example to let others follow and to exalt Christ."

=_= no... Know what is right and wrong based upon the Bible, our faith should always be in accord with the Bible and with God, with that at united Christians we can face anything.
