Thankfulness

I have been posting my notes from chapel, church services, events, and seminars that are God-centered for a certain amount of time.
With the help of Google, people have stumbled upon my blog from life-experiences, to problems, and love.
My proposition is that if you are a visitor and the posts on my blog has helped you in some way or another please just give a simple "thanks" on the comments. Moreover, I've decided that "if" I ever earn money through the ads on this blog, it will go to those who need it most, or to an organization you recommend.
Above-all of this, its just notes I take throughout the week, but if it gives God the glory, then why not?

Stirred But Not Changed, Pastor Caleb Part 2

Part 2.. Finished it in 2 parts =)

Defining the type of stirrings.

3 Kinds of Stirrings

  1. A Stirring that brings a certain energy, desire, or chemistry.

When we are stirred, we're like full or energy! Adrenaline has just been injected into our systems and it feels we can run for miles and never stop. So stirring is gives us a kind of energy, a desire that causes us to "want to achieve something in our lives or around us", or
a chemistry. A chemistry, whereby we are just mixed with different types of mixtures and boom we have a chemistry.

  2. Sorry.... I didn't get the 2nd nor the 3rd point.. Sorry
Stirring is a process, it never stops. It keeps on going... on and on!
Our stirring cannot be like a battery, ours is like the sun. It never stops giving us light. God wants us to have a stirring that never stops, because when we are stirred it goes past death.

What stirs us?
When we wake up in the morning and its just at dawn, our bodies are cold. But when the sun creeps out from the horizon and its light touches us, we feel refreshed!

Psalm 119:130 says

130 The entrance of Your words gives light;
It gives understanding to the simple.

Light stirs us. God's Word is light and we must let the Word of God enter us and.. stir us :P

Why must we have God's Word in us?

Without God we are lost in darkness, but when we receive Him and when He stirs us, we are new creatures in Christ and because we have Jesus, He gives us light.
When you can see the light, you can start to move.

Lost in our sinful worlds, finding life in God, and moving on towards better days.

Thats how it would sound =)

Pastor Caleb moves to talking about God's Word being a mirror.

James 1:21-25

21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

The Bible tells the kind of person we are. Reading the verses you can see that through the Bible we can see the type of person we are and that we are seeing what God actually sees in us. Not physically, but our hearts. The Word of God reflects, so ask God how we look like truly.

2 types of people on how they react to seeing their reflection.

  • "My"-Self-Opinionated people.
They are the type that does not change their view of themselves even though they show their reflection. They were stirred but not changed!

  • Double-minded people
These people saw themselves and actually knew they were wrong. So they changed, and changed, and changed and changed. They keep on changing. See your reflection, change yourself and grow in Jesus. Don't go back to your old ways neither doing something else.

What is the real type of stirring?
Real excitement comes by His spirit - Haggai 1:14
Jesus can stir us by His spirit, because He is a life giving spirit.
Let God stir you, let Him teach you how to keep your fire burning, because He can.

Hebrews 10:24

24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.

In conclusion, stick with the right people. People that have the same flame as you, so that together you can help each other keep it burning.

We don't have to worry about not being able to change because Jesus causes our lives to be changed!

Yes, I did it.

Next post is about Suffering! by Teacher Stephanie from Chapel.
I've been waiting for this topic, because on my older post I didn't understand whats suffering all about. So God did it again! Now I have 4 pages of notes and I'm ready to share it!!!
