Sunday, Pastor Mark

This morning, the Paradise Band led(yes my last post says lead, ouch grammar problems =/) the service and Pastor Mark preached. Though it was hard for me to go through the service, cause I slept late, woke up early, so my fault or I should say shame on me.

I must say, today's preaching wasn't the best. I don't really want to post about it, cause, one I really didn't pay attention so its bad of me, and two its cause I don't want to make posting about the things I post a must but more like out of the heart of giving and wanting to learn more about God.
But firstly, I have to make this a habit and then only choose want to and not to post.
Moving on..

Pastor Mark shared on worship. Not about musicians and songs but more about worship of the Lord. *Ughh side tracking, its night dy and my stomach is growlin but im not really looking forward to whats for dinner cause jelak u kno, and sticking my face to a manga =/ One thing about writing these things is that I write abit then i stop to think and then go again, testing my memory power lawls, but it takes a long process to just finish one, owh and i tot that maybe id just create another post where i ramble rather than mixing it into here which is not so nice if some one were to read this and getting into the mood then me rambling here, potong steam dohhh*
First thing first before I start on the message, stressing the point that for this service I really wasn't paying attention.
And if its different from the original then I'm sorry, but its doesn't really matter whether its as "same" as the original cause this is more of what I learnt and what I can give as an output.

Back to this seriously. Pastor Mark shared on worship, worship for the Lord. He preached from John 4:1-26

John 4:1-26

Jesus Talks With a Samaritan Woman
1The Pharisees heard that Jesus was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John, 2although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but his disciples. 3When the Lord learned of this, he left Judea and went back once more to Galilee.

4Now he had to go through Samaria. 5So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

7When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, "Will you give me a drink?" 8(His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)

9The Samaritan woman said to him, "You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?" (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans."

10Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."

11"Sir," the woman said, "you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?"

13Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

15The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water so that I won't get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water."

16He told her, "Go, call your husband and come back."

17"I have no husband," she replied.

Jesus said to her, "You are right when you say you have no husband. 18The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true."

19"Sir," the woman said, "I can see that you are a prophet. 20Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem."

21Jesus declared, "Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.23Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

25The woman said, "I know that Messiah" (called Christ) "is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us."

26Then Jesus declared, "I who speak to you am he."

Pastor Mark used the Samaritan woman as an example for, if I'm not wrong, preaching the Gospel.
He was preaching about worship but also about the lost and Jesus.(Everything is about Jesus ==!!!)
I'm not really sure about the details of worship as a Christian but in summary, we as Christians need to worship God. It's not about the music, or the band, or who is singing, but it is about the heart and that the heart is wanting to worship God.

Bits & Pieces. (Points that I don't know how to connect them)
Jesus actually reached out to the Samaritan woman in a special way. Jesus could have, rather than asking for water, created water to drink. But he chose to reach to the woman. And Pastor Mark added that in John 4:31-38 after the disciples came back from getting food for Jesus, Jesus said he was already full.

When Jesus saved the Samaritan woman (she really needs a name.. =( I feel very bad calling her the Samaritan woman, as if I'm sexist or something =/ ), it is said that not only she was saved, not only her family and relatives, but the whole village. For she went back to her village and told the people about what Jesus had told her. The village also invited Jesus to speak to them, and when they heard what He said, they believed in Him even more. This can be found in John 4:39-41.

What point is Pastor Mark making when he said this? Truthfully I am not sure, for I did not listen. But hopefully each person has their own way of interpreting it, because God speaks to us all.
To me its like, when one is saved, a whole group can also be saved. Maybe Pastor Mark means that through worship a person can touch others, or when there is a worship service people can be touched in so many ways.

What is important is that, when worshiping God, our hearts have to be at the right place. Meaning, set our heart's focus on Jesus and only Him, because that is what true worship is about.

And Pastor Mark quoted Psalms 84:10 again, which is for those who do not know :
10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
I have to agree with Pastor Mark that, that verse is very powerful, meaningful, and such love for God. Pastor Mark then ended his message and went on to worship, and he was really made to lead in worship with his team.

So this is the end of this week. Tomorrow is Monday and a start of a new week, I pray that God will speak to me even more. And that I will ramble more or just post something.
